Dental erosion<\/h1>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Acids in our food and drink and from our stomach dissolve our tooth enamel.
\nWe call this tooth erosion.
\nThis wear of tooth enamel leads to sensitive teeth and can lead to cavities. As the enamel becomes thinner, the appearance of your teeth also changes.
\nFront teeth become thinner and more translucent or develop ragged edges.
\nTeeth become increasingly yellowish (locally) or the teeth develop dark spots. <\/span><\/p>\n


How does tooth erosion occur?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Acid erosion is mainly caused by acids from our foods.
\nThese acids dissolve your teeth.
\nIt is not only about how many acidic products you eat and drink, but also the number of times you eat and drink them.
\nThe way you eat and drink also affects it.
\nFor example, do you wait to swallow until the prick is off the drink?
\nOr do you swish a drink around in your mouth for taste?
\nThis keeps the acid in your mouth longer.
\nStomach acid can also cause Acid Wear.

More tooth erosion in young people?<\/span><\/p>\n

Young people drink more often and more soft drinks, sports drinks, other mixed drinks and fruit juices than adults.
