Dental hygienist rates and reimbursement

What does a treatment at the dental hygienist cost?
It depends on the treatment and your own health insurance. Health insurance companies often reimburse dental hygienist treatments up to a certain amount, in full, or a percentage thereof. Reimbursement depends on your insurance policy. If you have questions about this, please contact your health insurance company. The codes used fall under the T or M codes.

Up to 18 years free

Did you know that oral care by the dental hygienist for children up to age 18 is covered by basic insurance?
That means you don’t have to pay for your children’s treatment yourself.
When you learn to take good care of your teeth at a young age, you prevent many problems later on.
In our practice, for example, we instruct children with braces to keep their teeth clean properly.
Also something for your adolescent?

Price quote in advance

For treatments costing more than €150, you will receive a quote from us in advance.
With this quote you can discuss with your insurer whether you will be reimbursed in full or in part for the treatment.

Our invoice comes through Infomedics

You will receive our bill from the billing company Infomedics.
Infomedics submits the bill to your health insurance company and you receive, if applicable to you, only an invoice for the co-payment.

If you receive the invoice of your treatment digitally, we advise you to check your spambox regularly.
The mail from Infomedics may end up in your spam box.
To prevent this, you can mark the mail received from Infomedics as ‘this is not spam’ (gmail), ‘not unwanted’ (hotmail) or as ‘safe sender’ (outlook).

Rates set by health care authority

The maximum rates for oral care, as with the dentist, are set by the Dutch Healthcare Authority.
An overview of these rates can be found here: overview rates.
