Here’s how to recognize gum disease

Did you know that you don’t always feel pain from gum disease?
For example, you may have deeper gum disease without feeling it.
If you continue to have gum disease for too long, your teeth can become loose and inflamed.
Therefore, keep a close eye on your oral health with the dental hygienist.

The following signs may indicate gum disease:

  • Your gums bleed regularly while brushing or when using a toothpick/carrier or floss.
  • Teeth or molars are loose.
  • Your gums are red and swollen and no longer close tightly around your teeth .
  • You have sensitive dental necks.
  • Your gums recede.
  • You have pain in your gums.
  • Tartar forms on your teeth.
  • You have a foul taste in your mouth.
  • You have bad breath.

Do you recognize any of these signs?
Then let the dental hygienist take a look at what’s going on. Good plan:  make an appointment immediately.
