Remedy bad breath

Fresh breath is something we all want. But is your breath fresh? Most people with bad breath (aka halitosis) don’t smell it themselves. But those around them do notice it. Sometimes it can bother you so much that it interferes with your social and intimate contacts. Want to know if you have bad breath? Ask your partner, another trusted person, your dentist or dental hygienist.

This is how bad breath or halitosis occurs
A good or bad taste in your mouth says nothing about bad breath. You may temporarily smell from your mouth, such as from eating spicy foods, drinking alcohol or smoking. A person with halitosis always smells out of his mouth. The cause has little or nothing to do with what you eat or drink. The main culprit is tooth or gum disease, the presence of bacteria and food debris in your mouth. The bacteria produce sulfur, which smells unpleasant.

Do the mouth check
To diagnose halitosis, a diagnosis from the dentist or dental hygienist is needed. This form of bad breath occurs in about one in seven people. Halitosis does not go away by itself and in most cases can be remedied. Do you suspect you suffer from halitosis? Then make an appointment for an oral check. We will look at the cause of your bad breath and advise you on an effective approach. Go for long-lasting fresh breath.
